The Indalo Man is a representation of a cave painting found in the Los Vélez area of the province of Almeria (which is in the region of Andalucia, Southern Spain). The cave painting was officially discovered in 1868 and made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. The cave paintings found are believed to be at least 4,500 years old.  The Indalo Man is believed to be a representation of a prehistoric God who holds a Rainbow with open arms.

The Indalo Man is believed to bring good luck, health and love to those who own one.  It is customary in the region of Almeria to paint the Indalo symbol on the front of houses and businesses to protect them from evil! The Indalo Man is an important symbol across the Region of Andalucia.

My modern Indalo Man is hand-crafted from 2mm (0.08″) thick sterling silver rod, measuring approximately 4cm (1.57″) at his widest point and 4cm (1.57″) long and we think he’s very beautiful as well as cute!

He hangs from either:

• a sterling silver chain – length and type of your choice (a sterling silver trace chain is shown in the pictures)
• or we can make him as a keyring (see pictures – you can choose a classic round keyring, or a heart keyring; they are stamped 925).

You can choose to have the Indalo Man in a highly polished, shiny, finish or in a matt satin finish.  Please choose which option you prefer when purchasing.

The total weight of El Indalo Man is approximately 5gm, without the chain or keyring.

The earrings in the pictures are 2cm wide, and the charms measure 1″ and 1/2″.  Both earrings and the charms have been satin polished. The earrings weigh approximately 3.7gm (for the pair).  The 2 charms weigh 3.3gm together.  For £65 you can buy buy a pair of earrings or the 2 charms in the dimensions described above (and in the last 3 pictures here). HOW THE SILVER INDALO MAN IS MADE:

My interpretation of the lovely Indalo is hand-crafted from 4mm (0.16″) thick sterling silver rod. He measures approximately 3.5cm (1.38″) at his widest point and 4cm (1.57″) long. We think he’s very beautiful!

You can choose to buy your Silver Indalo Man as:

• a pendant strung on a sterling silver chain. Please let us know the length of chain and the type of chain you would like. Picture 3 show a silver trace chain. The 4th picture shows a 3mm belcher chain (perhaps more suitable for men?). Or
• a pendant without chain. Or
• hanging from a sterling silver key ring. You can choose from a classic split ring design or a heart design both of which measure 3cm wide/long (1.18″).  See pictures 6 and 7.

And you can also choose to have the Indalo Man in a:

• highly polished, shiny, finish
• or in a matt satin finish (see 8th and 9th picture for the matt satin finish).

Also you can choose whether you want your Indalo to have:

• ‘straight’ legs – 3rd picture
• or with ‘running’ legs (1st picture).

The total weight will be approximately 25gm (0.88 oz).  Your lucky Indalo Man will be delivered in an elegant padded box.
